I have a bachelors degree in computer science and a bachelors degree in economics from the University of Maryland. Developing automated foreign currency trading systems seems to fit my background and interests perfectly. I’ve been using MetaTrader 3 to develop and run automated trading strategies for the forex market since September 2005. The current iteration of my flagship system for GBP/USD, The Cable Glider, has been live and handsomely profitable since October 2006.
I started trading in the FX Futures market with Tradestation in July 2007, and now have a version of Cable Glider trading there as well as an unpublished system for the Euro that is in testing mode.
The purpose of this site is to continue to track the performance and evolution of my automated Forex trading systems, and to give me a place to share what I’ve learned from my many years of focus on trading, investing, economics, and wealth accumulation.
I work tirelessly to refine and improve my trading performance, and to maintain the proper psychology for long term trading success.
The tagline “Book-Smart and Battle-Scarred” is a recognition that there is a difference between intelligence (Book Smarts) and wisdom (Battle Scars). Each type of knowledge is important, but Battle Scars are essential. We can succeed without formal training, but we cannot succeed without sufficient personal experience and continual development.
