I have been interested in trading and investing since the summer of 1987. That makes me just old enough to remember Black Monday, and I am grateful for that. So far, I’ve stayed in the game long enough to see two major crashes in the 2000′s,the “flash crash” of May 2010, and the unfolding Euro debtpocalypse of 2011. The tag line “Book-Smart and Battle-Scarred” is a recognition that there is a difference between intelligence (Book Smarts) and wisdom (Battle Scars). Each type of knowledge is important, but Battle Scars are essential. We can succeed without formal training, but we cannot succeed without sufficient personal experience and continual development.
