Well, it’s certainly been a choppy month for the Cable Glider and it’s been exaggerated by my manual overrides…some had a positive effect, others had a negative effect. These are trying times, with the cable oscillating around the $2 mark. With one trading day to go this month, we’re holding on to a slim gain for April, and incidentally, we’re in the same spot on the equity curve as we were exactly 3 weeks ago.

One of the Cable Glider’s major weaknesses was exposed this week. Although the GBP/USD rallied smartly above the $2 level, the system had filters in place to keep it out of the market during those days. When it was ready to re-enter positions, it got rather quickly and violently whipsawed by the Friday morning price action after the British Retail sales figures. The system is still up for the month, but I can’t help but think how much better it could perform if I were able to remove or replace these entry filters.
